It can be read in article 3: “The goal of the association is to collect, preserve and disseminate knowledge and information relating to Jewish genealogy. It encourages those interested to continue researching genealogical data. It provides possibilities for sharing and pooling information relating to own interest. It assists in whatever means it seems appropriate for the spread of knowledge in the field of Jewish genealogy. It achieves its objective alone or in association with other national or foreign institutions offering similar services.”
Since then it is the only Jewish genealogy society in Belgium and all linguistic communities are involved (Flemish, French and German-speaking). It has several dozen experienced or novice genealogical members, and a rich documentation center, unique in Belgium, mostly made up by donations.
